[BUG] Trackpad scrolling is broken in Wayland

by gembrot on 2024/08/11 11:39:28 AM
Bug description
In TIXATI, automatic conversion of trackpad 2-finger scroll to mouse scrolls works fine with x11, but not under wayland.

For some reason under Wayland scrolling via trackpad works in all other applications, but not in TIXATI.

That only applies to scrolling using trackpad as scrolling using an external mouse (USB or bluetooth) works fine under Wayland in TIXATI.

Could you please fix scrolling when using a trackpag under Wayland? Other Linux GUI applications can handle it fine, and so can TIXATI if it gets fixed.

How to reproduce
 - install wayland
 - run Tixati (any recent version) under wayland (I use Fedora 40 and KDE/Plasma but that shouldn't matter)
 - try to scroll using your laptop trackpad (e.g. in the list of peers)

Related ticket
There's an existing ticket that was miscategorized as "feature request" https://forum.tixati.com/support/7876  to point out that trackpad scrolling is broken in TIXATI when using Wayland. This other ticket was quickly dismissed and doesn't seem to be looked at any longer, hence the creation of this (properly categorized) ticket.

Thank you.

Upgrade to v3.29, this should be fixed.

Excellent, I can confirm that v3.29 indeed fixes trackapd scrolling on Wayland.

Thanks and keep up the good work!
