I've spent the last couple of weeks trying to tweak Tixati to improve the download speeds. I'm sure this is one of the most commonly asked questions, and indeed in my searches I've found many posts about speed, but none of the solutions have solved the problem for me.

I have a 100 Mbit down and 40 Mbit up fiber connection. I've capped my upload traffic it 1.0 mbit, so it's not causing the problem. (That's only 4.0% of my available bandwidth).

I try to download the Linuxmint cinnamon x64 ISO. 1.81gb.

On another bittorrent client it hits 10 MBs download speed within 60 - 90 seconds, and will sit around 8-10 MBs for the duration of the transfer.

On Tixati, the transfer speed only gets to 350KBs after about 15 minutes. For the for first 10 mins it will sit at around 130 - 150KBs

I've also noticed that the other client will almost always have between 700 - 800 DHT nodes connected, whereas Tixati only has just over 400

At present, Tixati is running at all defaults.

I have this problem with version 2.51
It was faster on previous versions but this version is so slow. I don't know how to tweak the settings.
Network -> Connection has many parameters and I don't know which one to change for my situations. Previous versions worked perfectly by default settings but whether I choose default or change the settings it's not as fast as it was.

And please it is not something to do with internet connection and the torrent. My whole bandwidth is limited and I am downloading torrents with so many seeders with seedbox. In previous versions I was using my whole bandwidth with such torrents but now I can't download with maximum speed.

It must be something to do when number of peers when it's high! It connects faster to the peers, which is a good thing, but does not use the whole bandwidth to download.

Right now, I am reducing the number of my connections in each torrent in order to download faster.

Please fix this annoying problem.

Go to bandwith. Set incomming to 9999999 until it takes no more 9'z. Set outgoing to 500. Works like a charm. Viceverse for uploading.

Update as suggested by developers and/or avoid huge channels unless necessary. See 2.57 info.

Changing to 999999 also fixed mine.  I also noticed that auto limit was checked by default, not sure if that had anything to do with it or not.

tried it no good please help me am losing way to much data compared to how much am gaining here imagine 20gb download and 14 gb upload please help

I just unable to make more than 15mb/s uploading speed on local network (it could 1000mb/s).

I have the same problem.
While I really like the usability features the fact that Tixati can utilise only a half of the bandwidth of my connection is unbearably frustrating.
The same torrent gives me around 5 Mb/s using Tixati, while on uTorrent it's over 9 Mb/s.
I never see anything over 5.5 Mb/s on Tixati with my 100 Mbit/s connection, which is nuts. Also there are a lot of time when Tixati sits without a single connection to a peer, while uTorrent finds alive peer, connects and starts downloading right away.

Due to a truly slow downloading speeds I'm abandoning Tixati. Otherwise, why the f*** am I paying for 100 Mbps connection if the software can't utilise it.

Why are downloads faster when the 'Bandwidth' window is displayed rather than the 'Transfers' window ?

This seems to be a reproducible effect.

the Transfers tab can be a bit more CPU intensive depending on what you have showing.
the bandwidth tab is pretty low on the CPU.

Hmm...
On a well seeded torrent Tixati on my machine runs only at some 5-10% CPU regardless of which window I have showing.

The 999999 and 500 outgoing worked and now it’s downloading at full speed

Tried all of the above and still tixati is slow as heck. Like I'm lucky if I hit 1000KB/s on a new torrent file with dozens of seeds and peers. and that was a good transfer. Otherwise I'm looking at 100KB/s at max. This only started about two or so versions ago and quite frankly is is really ticking me off after years of Tixati having no issues at all. And it is not my ISP throttling due to using a vpn and can download files directly from the web at max speed.

If you still have problems, try to leave Channels if you've joined many of them (or disable that feature completely in Settings) and see if it helps.
