"Bad Data" Sent by Peer

by Guest on 2013/08/12 06:57:23 PM
Hello, my readers. I've got automatically a peer ignored because of sending "bad data" and want to know If there's further info about this event. This by the reason of the peer involved transfers high speeds and I really might unblock and keep him transfering missing pieces. What happens If I unblock him and this occurs again? What "bad data" means afterall?

Thanks in advance.

Sometimes I see fast peers blocked too. Once it was the initial seeder. I think it won't harm to unblock peer like this. In worst situation you'll receive some corrupted data and he will be blocked again. It would be great if Tixati has a counter of hash fails or corrupted bytes somewhere in torrent details.

I have same problem, looks like current 1.96 Tixati has problems with autoban Bad Data seeders script.
I cant even find advanced settings how to disable or make it more allowing for bad bata seeders.

Tixati 1.96 keeps banning my hispeed LOCAL (LAN) network seeders ... wLAN or else LAN.

Hopefully they can fix it - currently Tixati 1.96 is useless for hispeed torrenters.

Great software anyways.

Appendix:

At last message as "guest" I said problems Tixati 1.96's autoban script for Bad Data seeder peers.

I noticed that I have antivirus running on that i7 win8.0 computer and it might be the reason for false bans.

I disabled few backround running processes: Antivirus realtime scanning for files ... and DeepGuard add-on for it.

So far, no false bans.

Software causing this (or both of them): F-secure Anti-Virus 10.00 build 18410, DeepGuard 4.10 build 50 F-secure Anti-Virus add-on

Hopefully this helps for ppl having hard times with hispeed seeder peers, your Anti-Virus prog/add-on might suck big time.

I'm also having issues with the ignore bad data problem. If I don't sit on a torrent, constantly unignoring the fast seeders, it goes nowhere. I had 6 torrents downloading and all of them were doing the same thing. It's very frustrating. I've used Tixati for a while now and I love it, but this new problem is becoming a real turn-off.

thanks to the guest who suggested disabling your anti-virus. Whilst it's not an ideal solution, it certainly did the trick for me. Fully functional downloads again.
