So i was trying Elementary OS 0.3 beta 1 and i downloaded and installed Tixati 1.98 and i thought id try Ubuntu 14.10 beta that way i can try both and see what one i like better. so i went to Ubuntu's download page and clicked on the torrent file. It opens Tixati then thats it no file starts to download no file shows in Tixati. So what going on. 1.98 works fine in Windows 7 its how i got the Elementary 0.3 beta 1 .iso

To communicate OS-launched URIs and file names back to an already running Tixati instance, a Unix domain socket bound to the file uds.dat in the app configuation directory (usually /home/user/.tixati) is used.

Check to make sure Tixati has permission to create a file/unix socket in this location.

It is probably your OS has a problem with Unix domain sockets.

Try netstat -nx|grep tixati

You should see:

unix  2      [ ]         DGRAM                    31086    /home/user/.tixati/uds.dat



Also, check the log in the Home view for anything strange upon startup and/or when launching a .torrent.
