Tixati uses proper base-1000 units for file sizes and speeds.  eg. 4KB = 4000 bytes , 4MB = 4000KB = 4000000 bytes

Some other clients are still using base-1024 units for everything.  eg. 4KiB = 4096 bytes , 4MiB = 4096KiB = 4194304 bytes

Many other clients don't even label the base-1024 units correctly like GiB MiB KiB etc...

If you really want base-1024 in Tixati, go to Settings > User Interface > Output Formatting

OP, re-read the last reply... it explains perfectly

if a KB is smaller, MORE of them fit into the same file

a file that is 1,234,567 bytes

can be displayed as 1,205 KB if you are using base-1024 (some other torrent client)
OR
can be displayed as 1,234 KB if you are using base-1000 (Tixati)

looky: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilobyte

if you are still confused, just change your settings like the other post says, then Tix will display the old-style units and they will match file-sizes with old-fashioned software

Settings > User Interface > Output Formatting

Bytes ---> Largest Unit  set to Ki
and also for Bytes In Charts right under it
