Windows can do that for you. You can even set to have a password for your whole profile. ;)

I think at least one of us does not understand.

Some other torrent clients encourage us to password-protect access to the client,
so that in the event of being hacked, one's torrent facility is more difficult to put to nefarious (and potentially embarrassing) unauthorised use.

Fair enough, this option is often so obscure & difficult to find that many of us are unaware we should be doing that, and may let it slide!

From what I can see, Tixi provides no ability to password-protect itself.

From a security point of view, that's B- poor.

It might also indicate a dev. mindset that security is an unimportant tack-on to the main event {yes, some people still believe that, even in this day & age}.
I'm in the camp that says security can be a pain, but, like not leaving one's front door open, is probably a necessary precaution.

So you don't want your mom or wife seeing what you download. lock your user account in windows with a password then allow screen saver and lock that with a password. If everyone is using the same account then setup a new user for yourself only. Install tixati for that account only. A hacker does not care if you are downloading porn. Hacker does not know what sex you are so can't tell you are downloading the wrong porn.
No sense adding things to a program that exist in operating systems.

A new password-lock feature has just been added to v2.84
It can be found in Settings > User Interface > Behavior
The user interface can be locked when hidden in tray and the main settings window can be password protected
