How do I use RSS feeds within Tixati ?

by Guest on 2026/10/31 05:10:00 PM
How do people use Tixati RSS as it seems amazing as a concept but hasn't worked for me.
I tried adding some websites but it comes up Error Parsing Feed XML.

Just wanted to know if anyone ever got this to work?

I am entirely convinced this does not work due to websites having captchas enabled. Thank you

Step-by-step instructions outline how to enable, add, and configure RSS feeds in Tixati:

Step 1: Enable the RSS Feature
By default, the RSS feature might need to be toggled on.
1. Open Tixati and click on Settings in the main menu.
2. Go to the RSS section.
3. Change Activate RSS Feature to On.
4. An RSS tab/button will now appear in your main window navigation.

Step 2: Add an RSS Feed
1. Click on the RSS tab in the main window to open the RSS View.
2. Click the Add button at the bottom of the window.
3. In the RSS Add New Feed window, paste your feed's URL into the Feed Parameters section (URLs must start with http:// or https://). You can add multiple URLs here if you want to pool them together.

Step 3: Configure Filters & Auto-Downloading (Optional)
If you want Tixati to automatically download specific content (like a specific TV show or release group) rather than just showing you the list, configure the filter tabs:

Filter Tab:
-Enter keywords into the match/filter box.
-You can set parameters like Any (downloads if any term matches), All (requires all terms), or Phrase.
-Use the Test button to preview what items your filter successfully catches.

Feed Processing Options Tab:
-Automatically download items: Set Initial Update to No (so it doesn't download historical clutter) and Normal to Yes (to catch future additions).
-Adjust parameters like Minimum feed update interval (how often Tixati checks for new items) and size limits (Auto-download item KB) if desired.
Created Transfer Options Tab:
-Define specific download behaviors or direct files to a custom save folder on your hard drive whenever this feed triggers a download.

Step 4: Managing Your Feeds
Once added, you can manage your feeds directly from the main RSS View:
-Start / Stop: Toggles whether Tixati is actively polling the feed on its timer.
-Refresh: Forces Tixati to immediately check the server for new items.
-Properties: Double-clicking a feed or clicking Properties lets you review published items, check event logs, tweak filters, or alter download rules later on.

If you want to manually download an item from the feed instead of using automated filters, simply find the item in the feed's item list, right-click it, and trigger the download manually.

I tried adding some websites but it comes up Error Parsing Feed XML.

Make sure you aren't pasting a regular website URL (like https://example.com/shows). Tixati requires a direct XML/RSS link (usually ending in .rss, .xml, or containing words like feed or atom).
Verification: Open the URL directly in your web browser. If it downloads an XML file or shows raw code with tags like <rss> and <item>, it is the correct link. If it opens a normal web page or a login screen, you have the wrong URL.
