I found this question asked in 2017 but there was no answer, so I'm going to go ahead and re-ask:

Is there a way to migrate from the PORTABLE version of TIXATI into an INSTALLED version so that the settings and filebase can be kept without having to start all over?

That's a great, possibly fabulous idea, loaded with common sense and I can completely appreciate it (even though I've actually been 'scorched' in one other forum (not tixati) for leaving a reply to a comment that was not even 6 months old) and have been instructed on a few other sites to essentially not re-ignite stale comments. I have the thought that forum rules like that are on a level close to being "anal retentive personality disorder based" and really very short sighted. I have to wonder if any sites actually delete posts due to age.  I tried to make the case for encouraging posts no matter how old the original post was because 50 years from now people won't give a hoot about when the comments were left, especially if they are looking for an answer to something. But they didn't want to hear that.  I do digress, now to the true topic of my question/comment:

I'm going to take a shot at answering my own question now, so someone please tell me if my answer is correct or not. I won't proceed until I hear if I'm on the right track and also won't be updating to v.344 of Tixati until I here that the "Bandwidth limiter bug" has been quashed.

After reading through the forums I'm assuming that all I need to do is export the cnfiguration from the standalone version and import it into the installed version of the application.  

Will this also "pull" all of my torrents into the installed version?  +as well as all of my settings, etc.?

Do they have to be the same release, meaning can i export from v3.42 and import into v3.44?

Are there any pitfalls that I might encounter or possibly something that I could do by accident to cause major problems?

Don't remove your portable version but make an export configuration file of the portable version of the program, and be sure to choose everything.  Now fresh install the tixati version you want and then import the config file from the portable version. The installed version should now be exactly like the portable version.

Another way would be to take all your .dat files from the portable version and copy them to the fresh install version, replacing the installed .dat files with the portable .dat files.

Just don't change the portable version until you have the installed version set the way you want.
