Category seeding location not respected when creating transfer t

by Guest on 2026/07/07 02:11:57 AM
Creating a transfer through the web view by supplying a magnet link does not place it in the appropriate category seeding location, but in the default one. This does not happen when using a .torrent file to create the transfer.

Thank you

Just to clarify, you are trying to add a magnet link to a category to the program through the webUI? I tried that and it works like it should. When adding a transfer it will not go into a seeding folder/category if it is not a seed (complete).

Yes, it will go to the downloading location first, that works fine. After downloading is completed, it should be moved to the category's seeding location, which works only when adding the transfer with a file.

For example, when adding a movie, and selecting the movies category:
1) It will be downloaded in /torrents/downloading, then
2a) If added through a .torrent file, it will be placed in /torrents/movies, the category seeding location
2b) If added through a magnet link, it will be placed in /torrents, the default seeding location, checking the location field in Options>Local files displays the default location too

Pressing "Apply Locations to Existing Transfers" in the category settings will move it to /torrents/movies. My guess is when an actual transfer is added using the metadata fetched from the info-hash entry, the category seeding location isn't reused ("Move on Completion" has checked "Use default setting" when the actual transfer is created).
