I get un-encrypted connections whilst the settings reflect I only allow encrypted for both incoming and outgoing traffic.

What are the settings of your first two items in Tixati v3.42

Ok first, for your unencrypted connections, go to

|| TRANSFERS >> select an active download >> PEERS (tab) >> next to the IP address it says LINK, hover mouse over the arrow and look for "Incoming" or "Outgoing"
then look for the T or U. Which ones are unencrypted? And which direction? Is it both directions or just one way?

Now check your settings for both directions to complete what you asked for:

|| Settings (gears) >> Network >> Connections

For your settings and situation do you have:
Outgoing Peer Connection Encryption = Encrypted Only
Incoming Peer Connection Encryption = Encrypted Only
Why do you need this? Just leave at default (allow both) because you might restrict your content availability and you really don't want to do that ?
The encryption is not for privacy reasons it was only to defeat ISP's from throttling your bandwidth (looking for bittorrent protocol messages)
Or, some ISP's were injecting RST (reset connection) messages to each side which spoofed the torrent client saying bye/stop.

If you want privacy you'd need to use a VPN or block the evil botnets

Yes,

I do have "IPv6 preffered" though.

I should also mention that the only time I saw this, was when connected to *.archive.org servers.
Always three, interchanging between U en T, where for two of them the status was: "file not found on HTTP server", the third one happily uploads unencrypted.

This could be a GUI-effect, i.e. I'm seeing things?
Are what I am seeing only failed connections, and should not worry?

Thankyou.

Those are HTTP(S) seeds, not bittorrent protocol peers. They are configured independently. You are probably using torrents for files that were uploaded to Archive.org, but were deleted or blocked from public access because of copyright complain.

Thank you, this has helped me to understand.
