DHT Port blocked Transfers Stop

by wrangle on 2026/01/07 09:22:44 AM
Does not mater what I do, DHT port is always blocked as can be seen from the images.

These images are after 2 hours of usage and usually stays like this even after 8 hours.

This results in no seeding or downloading of clear-net torrents via DHT.

Other torrent clients work fine.

Please, check what is the actual issue. Thanks.

what version of tixati and what OS?
what does it say in the status column for the torrent and for the peers?
anything in the event logs?

a) Is Tixati added to Windows firewall exception list for both private and public network types (depending on how you connect to the internet)? Are there other firewalls or other security measures further down the network (e. g. on your router)? Can they intervene?

b) Does your ISP use NAT for its subscriber network? Is it known for inhibiting user torrenting (mobile providers most certainly are, even if they don't announce it openly)?

c) Have you chosen a specific IPv4 interface in settings, or any/none?

d) What do DHT search request stats say? What do the graphs say about incoming/outgoing packets? How does it compare to previous behaviour? Do you see any data from DHT/torrent peers at all?

e) Have you mis-configured something to block the Tixati port, and forgot about it? Go to settings, reset the DHT ID, change main network port, (stop the client to be 100% sure, wait for 5-10 minutes, then start again).

Yes.

NO.

Yes.
But I have been torrenting for last 10 years with this same company, so even after CGNAT I never had an issue with this. I am a Tixati user since covid.

NO.
High Speed Optical fibre cable FTTH connection.

c) Have you chosen a specific IPv4 interface in settings, or any/none?

No, everything is default in that regard. Have not tinkered anything.

d) What do DHT search request stats say? What do the graphs say about incoming/outgoing packets? How does it compare to previous behaviour? Do you see any data from DHT/torrent peers at all?

Attached screenshots.

It was all good till this suddenly happened.

Did not configured anything, everything is in default state. I use public trackers so I do not need to set-up Tixati at all, everything works automatically.

Go to settings, reset the DHT ID, change main network port, (stop the client to be 100% sure, wait for 5-10 minutes, then start again).

resetted DHT NODE ID, nothing happened after 2 minutes of showing online; it is back to online port blocked.

I have used BiglyBT and qBittorrent and both says NAT OK after 5 minutes or so. But, not in Tixati. As can be seen = https://i.postimg.cc/vHYTg52C/3.png

Even Tixati used to become online after 5 minutes or so, This issue is extremely sudden and I have used Tixati intermittently due to Xmas and New year vacation.

That's why I have raised the issue.

any update here?

What I have seen and resolved is the same, but with a workaround. Something, either in the DHT or port forwarding, has broken.

What I am facing: Tixati starts> DHT is up and running> DHT port is BLOCKED.

What I tried: nearly every logical fix, forward port in Windows, change router settings, use vpn.......

What is working: I am using an app called UPnP Wizard. I fire up the UPnP wizard> assign the port to be forwarded (already set in Tixati)> load Tixati> the problem is gone.

Side note: qbittorrent is working without these shenanigans, and I had to switch to qbit for 2 months till I found this workaround.

Note to DEV: Love you for all you have done for us. Please help us with this. I love Tixati, have been using it since my university days. Others and I don't want to switch to some other client. Please find out what the issue is and why it can't forward port as it used to before.

There is a UPnP Log Diagnostic windows which contents can probably help the developer to figure out the problem. You can send the log privately via e-mail of this forum. UPnP suffers from a combination of being a corporate kitchen sink protocol, and being implemented by cheapest freelancers home router makers in Taiwan can hire.

That said, there is no difference how you forward the port, through Tixati, through a different tool, or through built-in Windows router settings page. It works the same.
