I would like to inquire about the version numbering for the recent release. I noticed that version 3.40 seems to have been skipped in the sequence. Could you kindly clarify whether this was an oversight, a numbering error, or if there is any specific reason for its omission?

I believe that main reason is stupid modern education.
Many younglings don't understand difference in software numbering and decimal numbering.
They think that if decimal 3.40=3.4 then same rule applicable for software.
I saw similar topics on other software forums. Like "why you release 1.3 after 1.29???"
IMO

I think the main problem is programmers who default numbers to math instead of realizing they can be used for identification characters. newbie programmers then tend to drop leading and trailing zeros, which in math is ok, but not in sorting characters used for ID purposes.
