Is it possible to start downloaded file from Tixati window?

Hi.
So my torrent finished downloading, and now I want to run what was downloaded. I double-click the file in the bottom part of the Tixati window's Files list, and nothing happens.
Is it possible to do this in this app?
Thanks.

You can totally start a downloaded file from Tixati. Just double click the file in the files tab of the transfers window, like it seems you did. The file should have opened for you. What type of file was it? Have you changed any of the double click options? They are found in settings-user interface-behavior, Double-click actions, press the configure button. Does that file open if you double click it in your OS? Do you have a default program set to open that type of file?

Thanks for the quick reply.
Yes, I found "Double-click actions" settings. For "File" I have - "Shell Open" in both cases.
Extension is ".exe".
If I right-click an exe file in the bottom list, the menu "Open" is grayed out.
However, it's not grayed out for MKV, JPG, or other extensions.

I don't think tixati runs .exe files.

It's a precaution against unwanted program execution. If you don't immediately understand why it was added, you might be quite a careless internet user.
Not everything you get from the internet can be started or should be started. Some people only want to get the data to compare hashes, and check public databases, release notes, and so on to see if something is legit, and then use it. The last thing anyone wants is to run a potential virus from non trustworthy source simply because they've missed the line when double-clicking on readme.txt.
Some malware targets complete computer illiterates who just double click on everything they see, even something as obvious as trailer.mp4.exe.
Even if it's not malware, you might not want to run all available executables. There might be a copy of uninstaller which will remove files you actually use at the moment, or .bat scripts to (de)register some services and do other modifications to the system which might be helpful to some, but which you don't really want (or might not understand). Even a completely fine regular multi-gigabyte installer might be a problem if your system is already very busy, and you don't expect to spend memory on starting that, or cripple the disk performance with anti-virus checking the whole damn thing.
People who understand what they're doing will use a different menu item to jump to the file location, double-check, and run the thing. Others should probably ask for advice in such cases.

Well, yeah. That was my initial intention to "start downloaded exe file from Tixati window".
If "not". Then "Why?"

Thank you for the detailed reply. It's always a pleasure to connect with internet users who have a basic grasp of internet security.
However, they sometimes lack a fundamental understanding of 'application settings' principles. For instance, if a menu says 'Shell Open,' users naturally expect it to perform that action.
I don't judge people based on their beliefs; if the Tixati author believes 'this is how it should be,' then that's the way it will be.
I appreciate everyone's responses.

It that bothers you so much, you can just run any free hex editor, open Tixati executable, search for list of dangerous extensions (".exe.com.bat...") in one of the data segments, and overwrite the ones you need with xxx or zzz. I've tested it, it takes less time than typing the reply.
