Alternatives for incomplete file move at completion?

by appyface on 2025/08/02 12:34:21 AM
I am typically looking for rare/uncommon files. Many times the transfers I find are not 100% complete but do have one or more completed files within them. If I can find enough of these I may have a complete set or something close enough.

I set the files I don't want to priority "off". When the remaining files complete, the transfer moves to the destination directory, including any incomplete files.

I take a screenshot of the files I turn off, so I can refer back once the transfer completes and delete them.

Is it possible for Tixati to track files that are incomplete, and give me the option on the transfer to not move incomplete files to the output directory, or just delete them, when the transfer finishes? (I don't want to go by files that are priority OFF, as those could be complete files that are turned off for another reason.) Or is there some other way for Tixti to keep track for me? I do use full file preallocation due to slow disk, in case that matters. Thanks.

in the settings-transfers-files there is an option 'Incomplete file name format'. turn that on. now you will know what files are incomplete.

Never occured to me to look for help with this in settings! It's marked now, will monitor. Thank you!

This didn't go right, but I'm not sure where my trouble lies.

I marked this setting for incomplete filenames.

I also upgraded from 3.36 to 3.37.

I added a transfer in which I only need four files. While it was allocating (I use full pre-allocate and a slow disk) I quickly turned off (priority = off) all except the four files I want. Some unwanted files had already preallocated while others hadn't started yet when I turned them off.

The transfer finished with error files missing. I did a force check the tried to start the transfer again, it starts, quickly changes to seeding, then quickly moves to status complete with files missing error again. All four files show an individual status of complete, but only one file moved to the completed directory, the other three are still in the new downloads directory. Nothing has the incomplete file prefix.

All I changed was that setting, and upgraded from 3.36 to 3.37 then added the new transfer. The transfer is in limbo, it won't complete fully and it won't run, I will delete it and create it again, but before I do I will turn off that incomplete file setting. Hopefully that was the issue and 3.37 will download the files correctly this time. I will post back if it doesn't.
