1) Free software, despite what media tells you, is not about some “feels”. It's a demand for users to not be exploited by software owners. Given that corporations doing exactly that are currently at the top of stock exchange lists, it hasn't lost any importance today.
2) You should actually become more worried when closed source program you use becomes open source. It's the moment when many possible old bugs can be discovered by new sets of hands. If you are unlucky, they might be dishonest.
