Hi! I like Tixati and would like to use it permanently, but the issue is as I described in the title. When I start to download a torrent, it takes a long time to start downloading/connecting to peers. This happens always.
On the other hand, this never happens with neither qBittorrent and Deluge. By the time Tixati start downloading, qBittorrent and Deluge often already had downloaded 50-100 MB. I only have 20 MBps connection. So, 50-100 MB download takes time.
In fact, for most healthy torrents, qBittorrent and Deluge start downloading within a couple seconds while there is a long delay with Tixati.
I should point out that port forwarding is not an option for me. My ISP doesn't allow it, and I don't have a paid VPN. Torrenting is not prohibited in my country. Since I don't have port forwarding, my torrent client's inbound connections are also blocked in my Windows Firewall.
This is the same for qBittorrent and Deluge also.
My Tixati settings are mostly default. Excluding download location, the main thing that I changed is set Download slot to 1. This is because I only want to download 1 torrent at a time. Upload slots is set to 4 which I guess is the default. I also disabled recycling upload slots to download slot to prevent downloading more than 1 torrent at a time.
Another thing that I changed is Random port intervals to Every Day.
Are these settings, ok?
Is there anything in Tixati settings that I can change to make it connect to peers as quickly as it happens with qBittorrent and Deluge.
I have the same issue with Tixati. Try to raise the number of outgoing peer connections for TCP and UDP.
You shouldn't block incoming connections at Windows Firewall. Depending on NAT implementation, NAT hole punching could still succeed to secure an incoming connection. It won't help with this issue.
