Restoring from backup

by Guest on 2014/07/13 09:10:29 PM
Where does Tixati store the transfers list?

If I copy over the appdata tixati folder, will that restore my transfers list (mainly made up of magnet links)?

From what I have tried, transfers are stored in core.dat and core2.dat files in appdata folder. Tixati has got easy to use Import/Export function (in Settings), which you can use to save and restore some settings including transfers. However it doesn't work very well for partial downloads, because all boundary pieces are lost. To save transfers and boundary or unfinished pieces it is better to copy whole tixati folder from appdata.

I have the core.dat damaged (not the core2.dat) and I can't restore the torrent files that I had before of the backup of my hard-disk. There is a way to open the core.dat with a software in order to read at least the name of the torrents that I had?

The old format core.dat can be loaded by any version older than 1.99 I think.  So all you need to do is get one of these old versions and run it once.  If it is old enough, and new enough (between 1.51 and 1.99 should work), it will be able to load the old format yet it will also save to the new format.

http://www.tixati.com/download/tixati-1.99-1.win64-install.exe  I would try first.

But make sure you are careful and make a backup of all your dat files just in case.

Thanks so much for your suggestion. I've tried to install the 1.99 (and the 1.98) version but the result is not changed. Anyway, I've found a solution by applying this tip: http://forum.tixati.com/support/1766/
