Issue creating large torrent file with many files in v3.31

by contemptx on 2025/01/01 12:04:34 PM
This is probably unusual in the amount of files and size of torrent, however I’m trying to share a build in a way that does not require extracting to be able to use.

The size of the directory is: 1.98TB (I am also attempting a larger 7.68TB directory)

Settings:

Seed Folder
V1
256MB pieces

These directions contain around 1.2M & 2.2M files.

Tixati attempts to check the folders, however seems to reset once they get to the end.

I have attached a screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/gsf0puH

Happy to provide more information if you can guide me in the right direction as to what you may need.

I would even be happy to make a donation to cover the cost of fixing such an issue :)

Looking into the logs further, it seems to  say it cannot find the file specified.
Although these files are not being changed in anyway.. they are on my NAS.

Although this also happens if I try and create the same content from a hard drive .

In the Help menu > Diagnostics, check out the File Operations Log.

If you can catch the lines where the interruption happens, that would probably shed some light on this.

The developer is going to look into this more closely tomorrow, especially the second screenshot where it says an edge file wasn't found.  It seems strange it would even need an edge file in that situation.

Is this very repeatable?  Will it stop on the exact same file/position each time?  Close to it?

Thanks for reporting this.

Let me run it again and let you know.
However yes it has stopped multiple times the same error but I don’t think the same file, so I’ll let you know tomorrow.

Just an update also as I’ve been testing other clients, I’m currently testing utorrent and this prompted me to say the folder contained hidden files and did I want to include them, this maybe totally unrelated but something I thought I would point out.

Update:

My test with utorrent also failed as the client crashed about 80% of the way through, so assuming it’s some sort of file causing this, I will run again through Tixati.

I have managed to run another 2TB folder and this looks to have completed successfully: link: https://imgur.com/a/vOmoQnQ

However, I ran another 2TB folder “2TBTP” and instead this gives an “invalid-hash error” however I’m not sure how to provide you more information on that error?

I can see it said: “invalid file system in meta-file” before this error for the 2TBTP folder

[17:01:16]  creating transfer from local files > 2TBTP
[17:01:20]  starting > 2TBTP
[17:04:11]  stopping > 2TBTP
[17:04:11]  stopped: Invalid file system in meta-file > 2TBTP
[17:18:35]  starting > 2TBTP
[17:18:35]  stopping > 2TBTP
[17:18:35]  stopped: Invalid hash data > 2TBTP

I have taken a look inside folder: C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\tixati\incomplete-pieces but this is empty..
