Incoming/Outgoing settings for Full Fibre 150 Mb/s connection

by Guest on 2024/09/16 05:51:11 PM
I am having full fibre broadband installed soon.

It will not be the fastest connection available but it is 3 times better than what I have now.

Upload and Download will be 150 Mb/s.  Could I set Tixati Incoming/Outgoing @ 50 Mb/s?

I'm just wondering if it will slow down other devices connected to the internet?

How many other devices do you have? What are they continuously streaming, up AND down? That's a huge amount of bandwidth, especially the upload speed.

Tixati will ideally saturate to whatever limit you set. Typically the problem then is not the download bandwidth, but making sure you leave enough spare outgoing bandwidth to allow you to connect OUT with other programs and get your email, browse websites etc. LOL! The 100Mb/s you're apparently leaving on the table is plenty (OK, overkill) for that... if you have no other upload needs.

Make sure you do a speed test, and be aware of the difference between Mb/s (bits per second) and MB/s (bytes per second) - the latter is 8x more bandwidth. It's easily mistyped or misread. You'll want to check the Tixati display options carefully too, as they are very comprehensive in the way they allow correct/optimum display of units to suit your fast speeds.
