Download doesn't go up

by Guest on 2024/06/27 12:25:33 PM
I updated to 3.25.
It worked well at the very beginning.
But, since some point, download never goes up.
It seems okay, no error, downloading kind of 10kb/s, actually not downloading anything for hours.
But, upload is works well, unlimited as usual.
I dunno what happened.
Cuz I didn't do anything except uploading to 3.25.

I tried to restart tixati, to restart the computer, to ipconfig /release and /renew.
But still dowload isn't working.

Thanks.

are you sure the remaining downloads have seeders to give you files for downloading? How many (PEERS tab)? What percentage are they at?

I have same problem (like "Guest on 2024/06/27") on Linux, with all new Tixati versions after ver.3.16! :-(
I try new version and always because of this proble back to v.3.16. :-/

I will try now with new v.3.26... ??

"are you sure the remaining downloads have seeders to give you files for downloading?"
For me (last 2 posts are from me) when I use v3.16 - all is ok - many seeders, download without problem. When I update (all next versions of Tixati) no downloading (from start of Tixati or few times I get download with litle speed for little time, and after that stuck again with 0-1 Kb/s).
When downgrade Tixati again to ver.3.16 (without any changes: just replace files from Tixati Portable package in instalation folder) - all is again ok - max download speed!?!

From 3.17:
reduced RAM usage when there is a backlog of local download pieces waiting to save due to a slow storage device
download piece creation is now limited if over 18 pieces in same torrent are pending save to disk
download piece creation is limited if over 100 pieces total in all torrents are pending save to disk
better handling of low-memory conditions and out-of-memory process abort
I assume you have enough memory. As for piece creation limiter, people have reported issues in the past after that update. You can try two things:
1. Increase all limits in Settings-Transfers/Files-Piece Creation Limiter
2. Shutdown Tixati, rename the incomplete piece folder, start on the new version. Settings-Transfers/Locations-Incomplete Piece Storage Location

notaLamer Thank you so much for this!! <3

For now it seems that is all ok!(?)

I now update from v.3.16 to v.3.26, and all is ok.

I follow all you're sugestions

1. When update to v.3.26 I find settings you mention (also: https://support.tixati.com/piece%20creation%20limiter  ) and on all limiting settings there I adjust for x100 :-) (just to be sure ;-) ).
This I think do it job, but for just in case, I go to youre other sugestion.

2. I don't understud you very well about this, but I combine something from other posts from forum, so I close Tixati (and on System Monitor wait to process finish!) and then delete all files from original "incomplete-pieces" folder.
Then launch again Tixati.

I think now is all ok, but just in case I will wait to see how it do it little longer (before sometimes for little time was ok, but then again some problem,so now I'm little careful).

PS
Do you have some other sugestion about this new changes - how to optimize my configuration of Tixati for Linux (Debian KDE) with slow HDD and no worry of RAM (22GB)?
/ For now I look for settings:
a) Transfers > Files > "Peer read caching"
b) Transfers > Files > "File allocation"
? c) Transfers > Files > "Use polling method to watch folders (slower but more reliable)"
?
