I use filters - I have noticed that Peer filtered IPs are retried over and over. It is my opinion that setting filtered IPs to ignore has a positive effect on transfers. Monitoring and adjusting the state of filtered IPs for large transfers is tedious and time consuming.

(I have already observed that the ignore list is global, which would mean that the following proposal should not greatly increase overhead.)

I would like to have a way to set (1)an"Ignore after 'x' number events" and a (2)retry threshold, in the "IP Filter" portion of settings.

(1) After attempting to connect to a filtered IP 'x' number of times the IP is set to ignore.

(2) Default would be to clear the ignore flag on filtered IPs when filters are updated. Other options could be to automatically clear the flag at regular intervals, leave them filtered, etc.

It would also be handy to have a setting to do something similar for filtered IPs in the trackers.
