There are some (unverified) posts about Tixati using some port to send out emails. How true is this ?

It's a false positive from some lower-quality firewall programs that assume any outbound connection to a remote port 25 must be an email (SMTP) connection.

Some people set their torrent client to receive on port 25, for whatever reason, so when you try to transfer with them, your naive firewall/av thinks it's an email going out.

Nothing unusual, nothing to be concerned about.
