Delete files instead of copy them to dnd_file_crust_*

by Guest on 2022/09/10 05:59:53 AM
So, downloaded big torrent, some of files aren't needed anymore. Instead of delete them from explorer and brake pieces of torrent I remove download check in tixati, selected them, right click and delete. And Tixati just move them to dnd_file_crust_* into incompleted pieces folder. Also bytes and progress in Files tab of torrents still are still 100% and full size. I don't like that behavior. How can I change that?
I can delete all dnd_file_crust_* files and free up space but than I have to redownload some pieces to make them whole.

i reported this bug long time ago
tixati keep first and last pieces on file delete, if piece part is bigger than file then it might appear as if the whole file is kept
its ok for for pieces of files that are still marked for download but tixati keeps all of the first/last pieces
lets say i have 10 files, i delete first 7. tixati will keep 3 remaining files + 1 piece for the "edge" file + 10 or more pieces for those 7 files deleted.
if the pieces are 8mb each it really adds up.

it tixati were to delete the crust pieces, other files would end up incomplete.
because pieces can overlap files, this cant be helped.

OP here.
> tixati keep first and last pieces on file delete,
Yeah. If that would be true, that's fine.

But like I said, tixati keep WHOLE FILES no matter what.
I downloaded 20 gb pics torrent. Than deleted 2 gb folder. And it's still shows as 2gb and 100% completed. Not like 50 mb for full pieces.
Than I close tixati, clear folder with pieces, open tixati, recheck and download missing pieces. BOOM. Only 50 mb from 2 gb is there and HDD got almost 2Gb free space.
Here screenshots of similar situation.
(link removed by Mod- did not work) - I deleted files, but they are still there at pieces folder. Also, if I check "download" tixati will complete torrent in seconds. Because I will just move and merge pieces into files.
https://ibb.co/gV9gJN5  - I cleared pieces folder. NOW first and last pieces for other files are missing.
https://ibb.co/YhNtS0B  - I redownloaded missing pieces.

As you can see, other 4 folders with 651Mb, 20.4Mb, 626Mb and 21.1Mb are now not in pieces folder anymore and were deleted from my HDD (and released 1.5Gb of space). Only last folder REALLY contained parts for other pieces, not all folders.

Again OP here, looks like someone deleted 1st image, here I reuploded it.

Also I made a video to show the issue: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cdgGkoGyVGMhG54Ic15wKNjpvsEB1YQ2/view?usp=sharing
Follow the cursor, I open folder with torrent files, folder with pieces (at bottom part of window there is number of files in folder) and folder to show free space.
Sorry for 8min video.

youre completely unaware of the issue
lets say i have 4 files 500mb each (4mb piece size)
i decide to delete first 3 files. that tixati keeps

file (deleted) - 4mb gap (kept) - file (deleted) - 4mb gap (kept) - file (deleted) - 4mb gap (kept) - file (kept)
thats 8 mb overhead

One year after this bug report. Tixati still doesn't delete files.
https://ibb.co/J211X2X  - At torrent list it tells us that torrent is 1.37Gi, but actually it's 1.84Gi of files. Because I deleted some on them, but they are still at dnd_file_crust_*
https://ibb.co/kKkH38K  - And I can't force delete them.

bumping to get this bug addressed. I don't need several thousand dnd_file_crust files
