I agree, first I wanna say thanks for Tixati developers, is a fine software, but sorry, has a lot of requests, for many years, multiple requests, asking for file name filter when adding new torrents, better auto manage slots for downloads (not for uploads or seeds), full dark theme, and a advanced automatic batch renamer for files, folders, and torrents names or titles, customizable keyboard shortcuts or at least a good collection by default, a "open standard" for import/export, etc, etc, and etc, all this features are important, useful and has a lot of requests, for many years completely ignored by depeloper, and we just see "channels" and "chat" on changelog, who use it? In my Tixati the channels feature is completely disabled. Sorry, but it is frustrating, we don't have a very, very basic and simple file name filter when adding huge torrents and need too filter files using just eyes and thousands of clicks, and has a lot of "channels and chat" updates and other useless things? Don't make any sense. Sorry, but I think Tixati don't has a lot of users, maybe the opinion and needs of this users has some importance. Like me, who is every day in the forum, trying to help users, trying making suggestions for features and improvements and make donations when we can to support, and a lot of other forum users which do the same? Sorry, I like Tixati a lot, but has a big issue in development priorities. Thanks.

Some people do care about the channels/forums, if you don't then just ignore them, I've noticed a slow increase of users on my channel over the years, so I'd say more and more people are actually caring.

Nowadays decentralized social/sharing platforms are more important than ever, and Tixati offers that capability.

Take a look at reddit for example, r/piracy and r/crackwatch, people complaining that reddit and other platforms are tackling piracy when there are decentralized alternatives that cannot be brought down, Retroshare is one of them, Tixati/Fopnu/DarkMX are another.

No problems with channels, is a nice feature, but I can't remember one feature request related with channels or chats, but, have many requests for other things made by several users with 10 years or more! Look this feature below with a lot of requests since 2013! This specific feature has requests by many, many users including some users like hikikomori, Bugmagnet, and ME, :D , users we see on forum often, maybe some of the most active forum users and supporters. The problem is not the channels but the priorities, what is more important channels with ZERO requests, or a file name filter, a basic feature used by almost everyone, with a lot of requests and already present on a very limited client like qBittorrent many years ago? Or a better auto manage slots for downloads? Just remember which millions don't has fast internet in this world. So channels, bandwidth graphs improviments, Fopnu project is useful and is cool, but need stay in the end of the queue. Just to make clear I'm not the creator of this "NObody cares about Channels" (this thread), I just added some words below.

the few times i tried to connect to channels:
- few people
- even fewer files shared (if there are 100 people but all of the are releasers of different categories like music, tv shows, movies, etc then even 100 users would be ok)
- nobody was chatting

So do you keep working on channels just because it's the only thing you can do or you start to listen to the community and requests?
"Please be patiant if you need help" is not true....a patient person would wait a week for answer but here devs NEVER answer to requests (at least mine, over the years). Change the title to "we never answer and we don't care about what you want, we want to improve only channels"

I use channels so much it's crazy. It's a great way to connect with other users post mirror links for your content to share with others and connect to other users torrents most of the time what I find in channels I spent hours looking for online and could not find.

I, too, love channels.  It's a feature I wish more people used.

funny thing is chat and forums are dead, no one chats and few send messages to the forum, to get even less replies there, most of  the forums latest messages are years old

I also wish more people used channels, I would also like to say idk what the current feature requests are that are supposedly being ignored, but I was surprised to see people in this thread complaining channels are getting support (which is an amazing innovative feature) but other "requested features" aren't... as far as I can tell Tixati has all of the features you expect in a torrent app, and more? Its kind of the swiss army knife, I hate that some of the private trackers I use won't support Tixati because it is without a doubt the best torrent software out there. Transmission STILL doesn't even have sequential download FFS. Major love and support to Tixati

The issue is not the chat feature, is the development priorities, as you said you has issues with private trackers, I don't use private trackers NEVER, NEVER, but here on forum has a lot of users that has your issue with private trackers, is not better implement for instance a global persistent custom useragent? So, you and many others (not me) can easily use the uTorrent ID and be happy with absolutely ANY tracker, than burn more time developing chat feature used by few? And has a lot other more important features than chat, requested years ago, by many users, not only global custom useragent, like a more customizable UI and toolbars, native full dark theme, rules to auto renaming and trim torrents and files titles, I have experiences downloading huge torrents with russian characters and very long  titles that I lost half of the collection because windows can't handle this titles and can't open it, just because tixati don't has a auto renaming and trim feature, this is a shame and sad, sometimes was VERY, VERY, RARE torrents that I lost the opportunity, features like swarm merge for bittorent v1 that other clients implemented years ago and is so useful, availability column per torrent and per file, toggle the checkbox using keyboard, auto manage slots for download not only for uploads, internal search engines not like the chat search, but based on huge mainstream databases like BTdigg and Piratebay, that is infinity better than chat search, and so on... Has one billion more important things to implement than chat with A LOT of requests of people that donate and support!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Need urgently implement a hardcoded blacklist for criminal words on chat search, any respectable torrent search engine has a hardcoded blacklist, I recommend police look deep on the tixati chat search feature, because there has a lot of "weird porn" and I DON'T LIKE IT! I DON'T SUPPORT IT! IS A SHAME TIXATI! It's not freedom it's a sad CRIME!

(I haven't read the previous part of the quoted user's comment.) Unfortunately, the user I'm quoting has just mentioned the words "criminal", "weird porn", and "CRIME!", and as such, they're definitely a criminal and deserve to be banned from the Internet and all public life forever.
Seriously though, there's unconditionally no moral justification for censorship. Not even for illegal content. Who determines what's legal and what's illegal? Is there a universal measure of morals? What if we do have a standard for morals, but there could be false positives when banning stuff? This is not a shame on Tixati, it's a shame on you that you support censorship and forcing the developers' opinion on everybody. Furthermore, censorship resistance is one of the major advantages of BitTorrent over other alternatives for sharing large files. Instead of trying to force your opinion on others, or supporting others to do that, why won't you disconnect from the channels you find offensive? Nobody is forcing you to stay in them. Have you thought about that?

One thing is downloading a Hollywood movie or a music album illegally, a pirate copy, another VERY DIFFERENT thing is pedophilia, I'M UNCONDITIONALLY and COMPLETELY AGAINST IT and I don't know anyone that support it in the name of the freedom, this is ridiculous. I don't known any country that pedophilia is legal.



Even the legendary Piratebay, and DHT search engines like BTDigg and BitSearch don't show for you any pedophile result, this sites HIDE and REMOVE this type of result automatically using a basic internal blacklist! The Tixati dev know about this problem in Chat Search much better than me, he is not fool, if nothing was done all this years is because he don't care about it, is the same guy that make DarkMX, who uses DarkMX client? An Putin opponent? The common chinese people? What type of content you think that flow on DarkMX? Animes? Cartoons? Are you ingenious and fool?

Do not twist my words. I did not and do not support pedophilia. Standing against censorship of illegal content and supporting illegal activities are two different things. The illegality of pedophilia is irrelevant to the matter at hand; what you have to understand is that you need to be humble, and understand that there could be legitimate uses for downloading illegal content. For example, maybe police officers want to use Tixati to download pedophilic content, so they could analyze it and catch the offenders? Maybe there's a journalist that needs to access something, maybe someone wants to make an archive of something. I don't know. There's always gonna be legitimate uses that you just can't know in advance. The most terrible crime in the history of humanity is the Holocaust. Should we censor the Nazis and everything that happened in the Holocaust? Hell no. The fact that you don't exercise critical thinking says a lot about you and your morals, more than it says about me.

(1) The Pirate Bay, BTDigg, BitSearch, and other websites are just that — websites — that you can enter and get out of whenever you want, for as much as you want, and in parallel if you want. To equate them to Tixati, a BitTorrent client, is stupid. They're more comparable to the channels in Tixati. To reiterate what I said: You're free to not use these sites, and you're free to not use channels you find offensive. You just need to understand that the same principle applies for both. While you can also choose to use a different BitTorrent client than Tixati, it's much less convenient and expected to switch BitTorrent clients very frequently or use multiple ones in parallel. Websites, on the other hand… Browser tabs and the 'go back'/'go forward' buttons were invented for a reason.
(2) There's no problem with Tixati's search feature. The search feature doesn't need (and must not have) any blacklist of cursed words or whatever. Censorship is unconditionally unacceptable. The one thing I think they could implement, though, is a feature that allows channel owners to set a filter of which torrents could and could not be shared to the other channel's users. Bare in mind that such filters *will* be bypassed somehow, if the filters are used to filter out bad/illegal content instead of just irrelevant content for more orderly channels.
(3) The Tixati devs are free to not care about the "problem" you're describing. You're saying that as if it's a problem. Tixati is content-neutral, and they don't owe you anything.
(4) Perhaps you don't know, but there could be legitimate uses for DarkMX too. DarkMX, like Tixati, is content-neutral. There's a similar program called Hyphanet (formerly called Freenet before 2023) whose explicit purpose is fully anonymous file sharing. Guess what? It exists since 2000, and still running. Nothing you say is new, and it's not a problem of the Tixati devs.
(5) Stop forcing your opinion on other people. The fact you don't understand what I'm saying doesn't make me a criminal or a fool. You need more humility.

No, and if you read what I am saying, you'd understand that's not what I'm talking about. Different sites, just like different channels, can have different moderation. Again, Tixati channels are more like websites, and Tixati itself more like your web browser. There's a reason why your web browser doesn't prevent you from accessing illegal content.

You need humility and critical thinking, and to shut the f*ck up.

Kevin, just keep up the good work and experiments. Just don't forget to open the protocol/share documentation for peer review when you think it's ready.

Good channels already get moderated. One of those users was from Bangladesh fwiw. Lastly you should notify the channel mods and ignore the user client-side.
