Tixati v2.85 Crash Report

by Guest on 2021/10/07 01:11:45 PM
The latest version was updated some days ago, the version is 2.85, crashes a lot. It crashed 3 times in just the last 5 mins. Everytime I reopen it, it checks the big files and takes a lot of time, almost half an hour to complete. This crash happens when I open the interface from the taskbar. It comes and then crashes.

what OS?
make sure you are sending the crash reports in.
are you doing anything different in tixati now, from when you upgraded?

Had a few crashes on Win7 when Tixati was moving or initializing Files.
Went back to 2.84 which works fine.

Be sure to send in all crash reports. That is the best way for the Devs to fix it.

For me Tixati v2.85 (Windows 8.1) crashes EVERY time I use mouse scroll wheel on the tabs.
Such as when scrolling up down on the Home/Transfer/Bandwidth/Channel icons, or using the scroll wheel in the torrent details area.

It didn't crash the first time, when I updated from v2.84 to v2.85, and I noticed it. It is a cool behavior change. But apart from the first run, it keeps crashing. Switching back to v2.84 works fine.

The issue I guess is with the following change:
on Windows 7/XP/Vista, mouse-wheel will scroll the hovered control instead of focused

I have had a lot of crashes also since I updated to version 2.85. I dont know why it keeps crashing, but I hope devs find a fix for this. How can I make sure that I send crash logs every time?

Crash dumps are generated by Windows automatically when an application crashes. These (by default Mini) dumps contain a part of process' memory so the developers can load it on their machine and view exactly at which point the program had crashed.
If you are worried about your memory data, create an empty Tixati portable installation* and cause the crash again. The file will be located in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\CrashDumps for Windows Vista and newer.

I've not seen janet ask for these, but it is the actual standard procedure to investigate these. - notaLamer

* You can copy the Tixati.exe to a new folder and create "tixati-portable.txt" next to it (- or and underscore _ I don't remember)
