What ARE Tixati's defaults?

by Guest on 2021/06/11 08:31:07 AM
I've been having problems with Tixati running fine for a day or two and then going catatonic for weeks. I'd like to have a checklist of the default settings so that I can eliminate any gremlins that may sneak in to my setup.

It sounds like a network issue, I've run Tixati for months without restarts and there's not much to set up at all it got to just work.
Do you use a router with UPnP/NAT-PMP port-forwarding? Do you change the incoming port in Tixati automatically? Do you have enough Upload/Download slots set (Transfers > General)

Does your ISP begin throttling you? Good luck finding this one out.
Maybe your transfers have too few seeds (and then zero)?
DHT enabled or using a tracker?

What happens at all? You need to describe your problem better. I shouldn't be asking so many questions :)

I'm running win10 and keep getting these messages and no download action.

[1:18:15 AM]  NAT-PMP mapping UDP port 22041 on gateway 192.168.0.1 - socket error waiting for reply: Connection reset (10054)
1:17:13 AM]  UPNP mapping TCP port 22041 on gateway 10.255.163.129 - no UPNP services found on network

So I'd like to be able to go through tixati box by box and see if my settings are default or wrong.

Does your router have the 192.168.0.1 IP address? If so, it does not support NAT-PMP and will not automatically allow incoming network requests.
The second line is weird. Do you use a VPN?
In either case, port-forwarding is not being setup. In the very best case, like Debian/Ubuntu torrent downloads with hundreds of peers, you'll be able to download the files, because the seeders have setup port-forwarding and you can connect to them (but they wouldn't be able to connect to you). Though this is not an optimal setup for Bittorrent and on some transfers where such handicapped seeds exist, you won't be able to download or generally seed yourself.

The "running fine" theme goes on as long as there's at least one guy who can accept connections, unfortunately most people don't bother until everything stops working.
If you need a VPN with port-forwarding use the search with my name. If you want to port-forward manually, check your router settings (beware of trolls).

Same trouble

[18:25:25]  NAT-PMP mapping UDP port 12781 on gateway 192.168.0.1 - socket error waiting for reply: Connection reset (10054)
[18:25:41]  UPNP mapping UDP port 12781 on gateway 192.168.0.1 - no UPNP services found on network
[18:25:41]  mapping UDP port 12781 on gateway 192.168.0.1 will be retried every 5 minutes

I donĀ“t use VPN and router settings are OK (I guess)

Current UPnP Status: Enabled

Is this listing your manual port-forwarding setup or your router's actual UPnP listing? If it worked, it would be strange. All this error message says, Tixati's connection was forcibly closed by the other side (the router). The firmware is often so buggy anything can happen.
