Hm. Guess it depends on what you term a 'slow' connection in the first place. Here in the UK, speeds are not what you'd call great at the best of times; but I normally limit around 3 MB/s, and have gone as high as 5 MB/s. That's GOOD by UK standards.....especially living out in the sticks, as I do (just on the outskirts of a small town).
I've tried most of the torrent clients, and I always come back to Tixati.....for sheer speed, ease-of-use, and the entire feature-set. The 'portable' version works great for me here on Linux ('Puppy' Linux; yeah, I'm one of those 'head-cases'! <lol>).....'sym-linked' into every one of around 8 Puppies via the appropriate binary, and all sharing a common, 'linked' Downloads directory. Best client by a mile..!
