'File missing- force check to override'  errors  in v 2.77

by loninappleton on 2020/12/19 04:49:25 PM
After running my torrents group for years,  v 2.77 seems to have developed  file missing errors.  But running forcecheck will zero out and request a fresh download.

I've tried things like dragging and dropping the .torrent into the window to refresh the torrent.  What does not happen at that point is that procedure usually recognizes the content and grabs it counting up rapidly to regain completion.

The content file shows no size changes like it's missing something.
What remains is the .torrent with whatever missing file information.

I don't mind doing the manual work but what is the solution?  I have no place to start on it.

One additional thing.  I am doing my forensics on this missing torrent problem.
I believe I got one going by moving the object file and the torrent file from
one PC to another containing the problem.

My host index does not show an update and still shows Zero Seeders.
I've tried just clicking on download torrent at the index to see if that
refreshes it.  No good result yet.  I don't know for example if the index host site
updates all torrents/trackers  at once perhaps at some future time.

I'm finding my errors in this.  The one thing that was confusing was the Tixati program
would show the torrent as complete even when missing.  This is due to some
backup problems which is my fault.  It just ook a while to trace the problem
and use an older backup to find what is missing.  As I replace what;s missing,
a Force Check shows Complete right away.
