when I enable DHT even at a limit of 10 searches my router seems to be overwhelmed causing it to timeout all other devices, wifi, and its web-interface. DHT and Txati as a whole function normally as do all other connections form the pc Tixati is running on.

this is the first time something like this has occurred in the 3 years I've had this router which is why I believe it might be tixati.

I have tried every configuration of traffic control settings with no perceivable difference.

It doesn't seem to be a bandwidth issue I have checked with several tools never does it hit the limit.

The router is a avm 7490 with current updates.
