2.67 - Missing icons, Startup in fullscreen window and (fixed)

by Guest on 2020/02/14 12:09:54 PM
Copied from the other topic:

Version 2.67 now runs, thanks! However, icons inside the program still don't work. There are only empty squares for the small buttons, for example.
Another problem is that "Hide in Systray" does not work, either.
A third issue is, that it starts in a normally/small sized window, while the window controls say "maximized" (window restore icon shown).

No idea what MS broke, hopefully, the old behavior will return.

Same issue on my end, toolbar icons are missing. Windows 7 x64.

Same here! How do we bring them back?

what version of Windows?

have you tried resetting the windows? Right-click the top bar and go to layout and click reset all windows.

2.68 did not fix this crucial UI issue contrary to the changelog.
I tried to reset layout as Guest offered, but it did not help.
Here goes the screenshot with missing icons:

I confirm: 2.68 did not fix this.

We're working on this, but on all our Windows 7 test boxes the icons are fine.

This is probably due to some specific updates we don't have, and we are having a hard time figuring out which ones.  We're still trying to install more and more updates on some test boxes to figure this out, but it's taking a while.

If anyone who has this problem could post more information like the Windows Update history, and which variant of the operating system (Ultimate/Pro/Home etc), this would help immensely.  We can put a guaranteed fix into the next version if we can re-create this.

We'll figure this out one way or another...

I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit.

I installed all the updates until the official MS end of support.

January 2020 updates are these:

KB4535102
KB890830
KB4534310
KB4536952

Hi,

I'm so relieved to see that I'm not the only one having this problem.
So,I'm using 7/32 and in my case, the problem occured after the ESU KB4537820 February rollup installation.Impossible to fix it by uninstalling-reinstalling Tixati or updating to 2.68.Really heartbreaking since I've been using Tixati for almost 7 years! Just to add some precisions,I miss the icons, the tray icon but also the little peer flags and using the portable version won't change anything. Please,Kevin,(If I may),do something.I miss your software already (The qp client works fine,sigh...)

Tixati v2.69 is available and has fixed the problem with icon display issues on some Windows 7 systems caused by bad Windows updates.

It works, thanks for promptly addressing the issue! ;)

Thanks, finally! Let's hope that MS won't break anything other (they will, eventually, but one can always hope).

Double thanks for also updating FOPNU!

Is it possible for you to tell us if the GUI bugs were caused by the new February ESU update or because the latter enforced the security of certain 7 elements? Because if it's just the ESU which is wonky,I think I'll go back to my pre-ESU January installation. Thanks gain for your swiftness.
