Windows 7 crash on startup (fixed)    🔒

by Guest on 2020/02/09 07:51:30 PM
Recent file KB4539601 sent to my Windows 7 stopped Tixati from starting until removed, and a normal computer restart resulted in the file being automatically reinstalled as KB4534310.  A sudden computer shutdown may be required to prevent it from automatically reinstalling over and over.

It might be wise to change your windows update setting to have it just check for updates but let you decide whether or not to install them.

This KB4539601 was supposed to be a minor bugfix for an error introduced in windows 7 final update rollup. All it claims to do is fix a bug related to the wallpaper stretch function, but the update is rather huge.

And it stop both tixati and fopnu from running.

I confirm that KB4539601 crashes Tixati, at least Tixati 2.66. Two machines, one 54-bit and the other 32-bit Win 7.

I have run into this as well.

Win7, ALL updates as of 2 days ago installed, reinstalled Tixati (2.66), cursor shows busy for 2 seconds, Tixati never opens.  Tried running as Administrator as well.  Ugh.

Tried installing a patch (KB4539602) to the mentioned KB preview above, did not help.

Same here, after installing KB4539601 for Win7-64b Tixati stopped working on both machines.

Tried running Tixati Portable (32, 64), Windows 7.  Same issue as noted on 2 posts above.

My other exploratory posts seem to have been removed.  (sigh)

In any case, I System Restored to Feb 2, removing the KB mentioned, and causing Tixati 2.63 to reappear.  Had to "reinstall" Chrome over itself (nothing lost) but otherwise, I'm working again.   Win7 64bit.

Same here. Installed Microsoft updates this morning and now Tixati immediately crashes when launched.

So? What do we do? Will the devs release an updated Tixati version that will start working again?

A new version is going to be released very soon, within hours.

Thank you, Tixati 2.67 now runs with flying colors! :-)

Oh yes, 2.67 now runs, however, icons inside the program still don't work. There are only empty squares for the small buttons, for example. Another problem is that "Hide in Systray" does not work, either.

No idea what MS broke, hopefully icons/systray will return.
