How do I optimize Tixati for best speeds?

I understand you're new and all, but really...it helps to put specifics in the topic, i.e. exactly what you need help with.

If the search function is ever enabled for this site, being able to search for keywords in the subject/topic will be more useful if the content of said field is used appropriately.

Mike you need to post your speeds up and down. That is just the first step. Your connection type is just as important. My 2 cents is DSL must have a lower upload speed than cable 60% for DSL than max etc etc.  At least while downloading but during seeding 110% may work.  Post your specifics and maybe we can start getting some setups correct. Country of origin seems to be important also.
