new torrenter here. How do i make sure it is seeding when downloading and not just doing drive-by leeching. What is the difference

You should ensure your ratio is above 1.0 which means that you uploaded more bytes than you downloaded, for example a ratio of 1.1 means you uploaded 10% more than you downloaded, and a ratio of 2.0 means you uploaded double the data you downloaded, and a ratio of 0.5 means you uploaded half of what you downloaded.

In Tixati you can watch the ratio per torrent, but also watch the total ratio of all torrents.

To see a torrent's ratio, enable the Ratio column. You can also sort torrents by their ratio.

To see the total ratio of all torrents, go to the Home screen in Tixati and see the Ratio statistic mentioned there (on the right of the screen).
