What OS?

are you running the 32bit version?

what are you doing when it crashes? downloading? seeding? in chatrooms?

how long is 'a while'? few hours? days?

can you repeat the crash?

if it happens again be sure to send in the crash report.

you can email the crash report to the devs. support at tixati dot com or, post it here.

I'm running Linux, Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS 32 bit

seems to run from 15 minutes to a couple of hours between crashes.
i've tried reinstalling with same results.

will crash while downloading and seeding unattended.

FYI - think i found a work around

crashed 3 times this morning
I then changed the network - connections - outgoing peer connection protocol to "UPN only"
(i have upn specified for my vpn)
hasn't crashed since - maybe 4 - 5 hours.
will post again if it does crash

what was 'network - connections - outgoing peer connection protocol' set to before you set it to 'UDP Only'?

was it the default?

Probably default, can't say for certain. It's been years since i tried any tweaking.
If you'd like i can test with other settings.  What was the default?
By the way, around 24 hours and no crash :-)

Spoke too soon, just crashed after 24 hours.  Error message said something about tcp.
i've now changed incoming peer connection from tcp = udp to udp only as well.
will let you know if it crashes again.

no it didn't
has not crashed again since last reported. :-)

set both  network - connections - outgoing (and incoming) peer connection protocol to "UPN only"
Has not crashed since 3/28.  
today, 4/4, just to see what would happen, chanced protocols to UPN > TCP.
crashed within an hour!!
back to UPN only for me :-)

this should be fixed for the next version. thanks for all the crash reports, they should help the devs get to the bottom of this crash.

just an update for you folks on the problem.  i got a newer pc, 64 bit, so i figured i'd try the latest tixati (2.58
still crashing.  linux, xubuntu, using pia as vpn. reinstalled 2.56 32 bit version.  seems to work :-)

it's never crashed when i was actively doing something with tixati.
I'll leave it running on the bandwidth tab and it will simply crash periodically.
