I've been experimenting with auto-managing downloads.  The documentation is very helpful and this forum.

One thing I can't figure out after experimenting: do the additional slots open up from the queue and then that's it?  Or does tixati rotate through the queue until it finds the bandwidth being utilized?

Tixati does rotate through seeding queue, it doesn't for downloading queue. It just opens additional slots when bandwidth is underutilized.
