Problem on Linux when gconftool-2 is missing

by Guest on 2017/11/14 11:39:23 PM
Tixati added a post-installation script that failed to run because my distro (Pop!_OS) did not have gconftool-2 pre-installed.

Each time I would try to install a new software, that software would install properly but I'd get a 127 error (i.e. command not found).

I realized what the problem was when I tried to follow the manual installation instructions which use the gconftool-2 command. I found the package in the repository as libgconf2-dev, installed that and the manual instructions now work fine.

So all is good on my end, but this should probably be resolved as other people will probably have the same issue.

Cheers!
