I'll take a try at this because I was a beginner at one time.  Others can follow up with replies and/or corrections.

The Tixati program has an tab top of screen left marked ADD.  Click on that and a dialog opens to add a new transfer.

Click on "create a new seed" top of screen.

Navigate to the folder or file location on your system with the button "Browse for File" or "Browse for folder."  Highlight your selection of file or folder  and select  "create"  lower screen left.  That creates the torrent and your object file or folder
should appear in the Transfers window selected from the top of the main screen (if you weren't there already)

Other elements of the program show how and where to store your
object file and torrent file in the System screen by clicking on  the "gear" icon of the main Tixati screen.  I keep everything in one location.

The file location (which I had to look up)

is tixati >  settings (gear icon)  > Transfers >  locations
and that dialog opens.

You create a folder and then point to it in that dialog.
