User Interface Request

by laffin_boy on 2017/10/30 06:57:48 AM
Hi,

When i'm using this excellent program (ver 2.55) to download movie torrents the program usually asks me if I want to download all of the additional files that may be included with that movie.  In order to make us of use this feature I have to uncheck the teeny tiny block in front of each and every file in question if i'm offered 7 or 8 files and all I want is the movie. I would be much easier for me if (a) there were an option in settings to specify that I only want the main file in a multi-file package or (b) a BIG, easy-to-hit button on the download dialog itself that said [ JUST GET ME THE MAIN FILE! ].

Thanks.

you can do that.

press the 'auto' button. that will turn off all those little files. and/or go to settings-transfers-files to turn 'auto' on, so that it will always turn off those little files.

Ok, that's better but it still waits for me to tell it to start the download of the main file. This is NOT automatic.  Automatic, to me, means the it just automatically gets the movie I want without all the other files and without any further intervention on my part.

go to settings->user interface->behavior

once there, click on 'configure' for the 'transfer loading priority/location prompt' and select/unselect what you want/dont want

Thanks 'guest'

Ok, I opened 'transfer loading priority/location prompt' but didn't find any choices that sounded as if they offered me what I want.  My best guess would be 'Prompt Timeout' which unfortunately says that the dialog window is "dismissed" after the selected period.  But what does "dismiss" mean in this context? Is it canceled or is it enabled?

This program works great but the infinite variety of choices in Settings are mostly inscrutable to those of us who aren't programmers. It badly needs translating into common everyday language.

it is not canceled. dismiss just means that the window will go away. the torrent will be in your transfers window and it will follow your default setting of starting automatically or stopping.
