How to make tixati not to open a new folder for every download

by MalMal on 2014/02/23 07:40:43 AM
Hello,
I download a lot of movies with tixati so I opened a folder just for the movies that I download with tixati but every time I download a single movie it makes a new folder in the folder of the movies. How can I choose if tixati will make a new folder or just put the file in exist folder.

Thanks you very much

Unfortunately you can't do that. This depends on how the torrent file was made. When creating torrent file you can choose if it will be a single file or a folder. Apparently creator of those torrent files decided it will be better to share them inside a folder.

If this disturbs you, try to use Tixati Location > Move function on a file, and choose different destination (your movies folder). Then you can delete empty folder, Tixati will still seed the movie file even if the original folder is missing.

uTorrent lets you do this, and its very useful... Will Tixati ever add this feature?

Hi there!
I had the same problem as you. I found the solution.
When you add a new torrent, a new window appears, at the very top of this window is an area where the name of the file is written. IT is the name of the new folder that tixati will create. Juste erase this area and leave it empty.

It will download the file in the directory "local file location"

sorry or my english, i'm french and I might have made some mistakes.

look at settings/transfers/files >> File completion shell commands

The support page for this, https://support.tixati.com/settings%20-%20transfers%20-%20files  isn't listed on the primary support page index ( https://support.tixati.com/  ) but it exists.

You'll find some details on the shell commands at https://support.tixati.com/file%20completion%20shell%20commands
