Info on computer crashes, high CPU load - problems solved

by Guest on 2014/02/22 02:28:04 PM
My computer Win7-64 had the problem of high CPU load, high CPU temp, the computer shuts down.
I had to wait a couple of minutes, before I could start up the computer again.

After a lot of research, I found the problem.
It is iTunes.
And iTunes is preinstalled on most systems, I think.
Try to google "iTunes high CPU load" and there are thousend of hits.

Start Task manager, in PROCESSES it shows small CPU load,
but if you open the performance tab, it is much higher.

I installed iTunes 11.x and had a CPU load of 80% to 100%. Even if I don't use the program iTunes.
The computer crashed and shuts down just minutes after startup with NO program running.
With iTunes 10.x I had a CPU load of 25 %.

Now with UNISTALLED iTunes I have close to 0 % !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(With NO programs running)
AND with Tixati running only, it is less than 10 %.

The problem is, that even if you don't use iTunes, in the background is an
iTunes running under SERVICES, thats why it does not show in PROCESSES tab.

SO - to all you good fellows out there with problems like that, I can only advice you,
to UNistall iTunes from your system, and you will be happy !!!!!!!!!

It's more likely that you're in the minority who 's in trouble due iTune. Almost people face this problem (crash/hang) has nothing to do with iTune, but the Tixati itself.

While adjustment/modification your own system (and installed softwares) may returns you a nice result where Tixati works well (from your point of view). It doesn't change the fact that the underlying problem is still there, awaiting developer/programmer consideration.

I do have also problems, which I suspect Tixati being the culprit.

Nevertheless, the effect of deleting iTunes was like
loosening the handbrake and opening up the throttle.

It'd be helpful for someone who also has iTune preinstalled. Agree with that.

But the problem here, we focus on a certain application - Tixati. And I saw people report Tixati hang/crash here in very specific manner. They did look at process manager/explorer and saw Tixati consumed large amount of CPU. It's very clear. If it was iTune and people look at processes list, they would surely know what consume system CPU usage (executable names are all different).

It's just coincidence for you to have both iTune and Tixati installed in your system same time, and you just notice performance problem after using Tixati, but iTunes is always there at the 1st place. It could consume your CPU usage with or without Tixati co-installed (actually majority google result has nothing to do with Tixati). There's too many other reasons which also badly affect your system performance and CPU usage. iTunes is just one of them.

I agree with you.

I should have written "MY problems are solved",
but the headline has also a limited number of characters.

And if my info helps only 1 or 2 other, thats ok too, I guess.
