I'm using Linux Mint 18.1 Cinnamon, but my other computer also runs the same OS and I don't have a problem with Tixati. When I'm using Chromium, I click the magnet links and nothing happens. Nothing at all.

When I click magnet links with Firefox, I get a message that says:

The address wasn’t understood

Firefox doesn’t know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (magnet) isn’t associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.

   You might need to install other software to open this address.

Can someone help me figure out what I've done wrong?

I get it to work. Whether private or public indexing sites it works.

Go to "about:preferences#applications" on Firefox. Scroll down to "magnet" change the "Always Ask" or "Other Named Applications" to "Use Tixati Default".
