UI is very slow

by Guest on 2013/08/06 08:29:19 PM
Hello,

I have to say that the UI is very slow (actually I have seven active torrents). There is a context menu delay about two seconds, moving the Tixati window in windows is not very fluent. I think there is something wrong with the UI-Thread.

best regards
george

if your active torrents allocating files thats true (actually this proces hardly loads hdd like multiply file coping so anything running from that hdd working slower), and when allocation is complite and active torrents download\upload only anything back to normal for me

Yes, especially when allocating disk space.

It also eats up GPU cycles like crazy when not minimized!
With 5 active and 10 queued and about 100 filtered out offline torrents it sends my HD7870 XT into high power mode and chews up about 50% of the cards capacity (~500Mhz!).
It may be a problem with AMD's drivers, so someone with a different setup should run GPU-Z and verify this activity.

This problem makes following issue of Adobe's Flash Player MUCH more frequent:
When a video runs, the card goes into a "special" low-power mode where the GDDR clocks are altered.
This causes glitches like your whole screen being covered in funny color patterns, well at least they're funny for the first time.
Also line-artifacts (a little like when a CRT zaps out) can appear.

I really like the customization options and layout, but these inefficiencies sadly drive me toward other torrent clients.

So my old post got deleted.
Well, basically Tixati eats 50% GPU when not minimized, verified on a HD7870 XT with 13.8 beta drivers (it was the same before).
Please someone verify this behaviour on a different setup using GPU-Z.

I do not understand why this bug report would be deleted.
People should know the cause when performance hits happen, and Tixati being the cause of GFX Performance trouble is less than obvious.

I am also having the same problem and noticed gpu temp spikes while it was not minimized.

Same thing here (win 8.1x64 system), except when Tixati is running in a virtual machine (virtualbox win 8.1x64 virtual machine), then it doesn't happen.

For me, i was able to get Tixati to be Beautiful by going into my GPU Settings. In wherever you can set 3D settings for applications individually, add Tixati to the list and DISABLE EVERYTHING for it. I have an Nvidia GTX 980 and this made the interface work ALOT smoother for me. There's probably only one setting that causes the lag, but i was too lazy to figure out which one :P

Nice, messing with the nvidia control panel, and setting everything off for Tixati made a huge improvement with the layout navigation.
