Using socks5 proxy with following configuration in Tixati 2.53:

SOCKS5
address: proxy-nl.privateinternetaccess.com
port: 1080
user/pass: my correct login
use proxy to resolve names: unchecked
use ssl to connect to proxy: unchecked

I am also using the PIA VPN app with the killswitch option enabled

The problem is that my proxy will not stay authorized.  This is causing private trackers to display the following status:

Proxy auth failed (49684)

I can sometimes get the trackers to show a good proxy auth when I retype the password. If I disable the proxy in Tixatis settings, the trackers authorize just fine.

I have successfully used the same proxy settings in other torrent clients (out of respect for the forum, I will not list them).  Tixati is my preferred client...

Can somebody offer me some support to help get my proxy to work on top of my VPN?  I understand that I can just use the VPN but I would like to see if I can get both working.

Right after I posted this, I discovered that I had to use the PIA service to create a 2nd user/pass for the proxy.  My issue was caused by using the same user/pass as my VPN on the Proxy.

I recommend using OpenVPN and bind Tixati to the interface
That way you know nothing will leak
