I apologize in advance, I am a noob to torrenting.

I have bitfender total security 2016. I can download but I am unable to seed and I really don't want to be a leecher.

I have several different issues with my setting that I'm researching on the forums, but my first and main question: is it safe to add tixati as a trusted program through the bitdefender firewall? I have to option to add tixati as an exception, and also to block port scans in the network.

Can anyone please tell me if these two actions pose any threat that I should be aware of? Is this something required for Tixati to run properly?
