I start a new torrent download, its size is ~6G. While other clients starts download immediately, Tixati first "allocates space". This takes much time, up to 5 minutes. Why so?

As I see, this cannot be fixed using "Fast allocation" option in the parameters. Is there any way to fasten that behavior?

Try settings > transfers > local files.

Towards bottom of planel, there is an option 'file allocation'. Change it to 'sparse files'.

If you are downloading loads of torrents, the file allocation stage can slow down *dramatically*.

Sparse files works OK for now.
But other clients allocate just in seconds. Do they all use sparse file technique?
