Missing pieces after re-check

by Guest on 2017/01/04 11:45:02 PM
Hi devs, after having realized the hard way, now practically every torrent I download will have missing pieces after an apparent completion of the file. So I have to manually re-check again and again. At this point I think it's totally necessary to have an option to re-check after any files completes to ensure we are getting the actual 100% of the selected files. Thanks for this software!

From the sound of it, something on your system could be changing the files you've downloaded with Tixati, hence the subsequent "missing pieces". It could be a program that you use to open specific file types (some media players add tags or other content to the files they run when set to do so, among others), or it could be an anti-virus running in the background, for instance. It could also be file corruption resulting from a bogus file system or a failing hard drive.

Thanks for the reply. I use VLC and even media not played during the DL process will have missing pieces after re-check. I use no AV, Internet filter only. Almost no app running in background. The two most probable causes are bad peer floods I get very often (but even this might be related to the latter) and/or OS/HDD corruption. Any way, it would be nice If devs are able to innovate on bad data, bad peer handling.

Tixati auto-ignores after 1 failed piece hashcheck AFAIK. Then the peer turns red with status IGNORED.
