I decided to turn DHT off so I went to DHT and turned it off. I then went to options and selected it not to start.

Torrents all stopped. So I decided to turn it on. After I turned on DHT and selected in options to start. I turned off tixati and restarted it. None of the torrents downloaded. I then reinstralled tixati completely. They still did not work. I went over the options and they looked right.

So I then uninstalled tixati with revo uninstall. Then installed it new again. Then the downloads started to work.

What went wrong and I would like to turn off DHT but cannot,

DHT is irrelevant to download when you have trackers. Are you using trackers without DHT or, the DHT without trackers? They serve the same function.. so they don't both need to be on BUT ONE does need to be on at a time at least.
