WebRTC Leaks

by caro on 2016/12/28 12:30:42 AM
I'm relatively new to torrents and I'm having trouble seeding. (Different help topic.) I bought a PIA subscription, set up port forwarding, and ran the suggested tests.

This test https://ipleak.net/#webrtcleak  shows my true IP address and states that if my actual IP address is visible, it means my system is leaking WebRTC requests. The suggested fix on the PIA forum is to turn off media.peer.connection in Firefox. This sounds like it will really screw with torrenting.

I've tried to research affects but the only information is more than 2 years old and relates to utorrent specifically.

Can anyone please help?

I am also running PIA and tested it on https://ipleak.net/  and yes it is leaking my IP address

The WebRTC leak only happens in the test of Tixati, Firefox is not leaking the IP address.

We need a fix for this quickly or we need to move to another client.

Also my RSS feeds have become very flaky (not sure if it is the source site of Tixati)

Is IPV6 disabled for your connection, as well as in Tixati? IPV6 will leak your location.

Check out the PIA forums for procedure... for Tixati, make sure you're only running IPV4 through the adapter (tun0/tap)

Does Tixati has an embedded browser? If not, why would WebRTC have anything to do with Tixati?
