Similar to the comments I am getting, I've downloaded earlier version 2'45 up to this latest 2.51 and its been a total disaster all the way 9 re-installs this last 8 days and still it's a shipwreck
I don't understand what is happening I have used Tixati for two years with no problems. However since 2.47 the whole app has been acting like a drunken pig on stilts, problems with ports throttle problems and now use for one download and that's it it refuses to down load any more.
I use private trackers only and as said until the 2.47 update the whole system was so smooth it was unbelievable. Now it's gone the other way. What is happening?

norton isnt a good av really, you should seek another (asap if you like), i know theres plenty to satisfy your needs

Modern antivirus packages are the worst "virus" I recollect after more than 20 years dealing with computers...
Just add an exception in your AV options telling it that Tixati (along with the other 328 files on your computer that it will detect as a "virus") is safe. A better alternative might be to disable any real-time features on your AV and only use manual scans as needed, but that is an option which should be tempered with some computing experience and the confidence to do so.
