Get magnet’s name and stop

by Cazotte on 2016/12/03 04:39:40 AM
Common scenario:
1. Tracker lists some magnet link like magnet:?xt=urn:btih:373C...
2. Let’s click and Tixati is launched in the background.
3. Its download panel is silently populated with hash-link: 373C8...(...)
4. Some time later I'm going to review, start or cancel.

As you know, magnet links have no meaningful names upon adding.
So I have to do 2 steps: start magnets thus getting names, then stop them right away.

Would be great to have some option to do it automatically in background. Feature request, right?

If you have queue enabled as long as you're still downloading files (slots are full)... you get a pending list of transfers, you can right click, START/STOP at your leisure.

FWIW: My magnets are all imported with names because i use the &dn= field when importing (Setting -> Transfers -> Magnet Links)

No, no, no. You repeat what issue is about, exact routine I want to avoid, i.e. no switching to application to start/stop.
Let me add a few links in the morning, review them by names in the afternoon and form a queue for overnight download.

This setting tunes format of magnet links Tixati EXPORTS when you tell it to do so (e.g. to share with friend).
It has nothing to do with auto-generated magnet links published on torrent trackers which you click upon.

I apologize about the misunderstanding, for I replied above you.
If your tracker is not publishing &dn... find another source? Or use a noscript addon to add it. Sounds alot easier to make better input than try to get Tixati to work in a special case with too many steps, remember GIGO
